Gift Guide - 5 Wellness Rituals.jpg

I don’t know about you, Awakening Soul, but my guess is that the past eight months have been as disorienting for you as they have been for me.

COVID-19, and all the changes that came with it, have transformed our lifestyles completely and there’s no clear end in sight.

I’ve found that the best way for me to cope through these, ahem...challenging...times, is to devote time in my day to regular self-care and spiritual self-development.

There are no doubt gifts to be found in these isolating and stressful times, so here are some rituals and products I recommend to bring alignment and ease to these crazy days of 2020.

Morning Mindfulness Ritual

When you start your day off with intention and connection to your higher self, you are already ahead of the game.

I like to begin with meditation. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy sesh, just start out with 5 minutes a day and work up from there. Remember that it is a practice, and that it might not be easy at first, it will only get better.

I recommend InsightTimer, an app that gives you not only an actual timer, where you can meditate in silence or to ambient sounds, but also thousands of free guided visualizations and journeys. I have my favorites for sure, so I recommend spending some time getting curious and trying a bunch out.

Hot tip: You can find my meditation, Safe Haven Journey to Soothe Anxiety, on the app too.

After I get into alignment and flow, I pull out an oracle deck, my go-to divination tool. I work with several of them, but my hands down favorite is The Starseed Oracle by bestselling author (and one of the most influential teachers of my life) Rebecca Campbell, with art by the incredibly talented Danielle Noel. Working with the deck helps me connect to my inner knowing and receive all kinds of hits and nudges.

I pulled a card for some guidance just before writing this post, and received this:

The Messenger - Sirius energy. Bringing harmony and balance.

“You’re part of the lineage of souls who have dedicated their lifetimes to the upliftment of the planet...the ones here to plant the sacredness of life back in.”

Being that the reason for writing this post was to share wellness rituals with you, I found that card to be quite appropriate!

Walk and Read Ritual

There has been nothing more nourishing to my soul over these last few months than my daily walks. I never used to pay much attention to how the light changed as the seasons did, or how incredibly beautiful and varied the flowers and trees can be. The combination of fan-girling on Mother Nature with the pleasure of moving my body and taking in the fresh air has been a life saver.

On some days I walk three miles, and sometimes I just keep going and end up at six.

Now, I can’t really just be in awe of nature only for an hour or two straight every single day (as fun as that sounds), so I paired the movement of my body with growth of my knowledge.

My Audible subscription (click here and get two free books to try it out) has been one of my most invaluable resources, both teaching me and entertaining me on my strolls. My library has been varied, including my most recent two titles, The Meaning of Mariah Carey and Cassandra Speaks by Elizabeth Lesser. Let’s just say I learned a lot about the power of the female voice from these two very different, but very insightful, books.

Soul Growth Ritual

So I’ve had some extra time on my hands since all of my events were cancelled. Typically, I had networking get-togethers, happy hours and rehearsals to get to, but of course these times are different.

A big plus of having this extra time? I get to dedicate more of my waking hours to continuing ed for my spiritual journey. All of this time in self-reflection made me grateful for the incredible wealth of knowledge that is out there and the teachers dedicated to sharing their knowledge and uplifting the planet. There are a lot of old habits and beliefs that I’ve been wanting to work through, and it’s great to know I don’t have to go it alone.

I’m about halfway through Marisa Peer’s Mindvalley Course, Rapid Transformational Therapy for Abundance. Let me tell you, things are shifting for me. Although there is some deep diving that happens here, it feels so good to make myself a priority and nurture my soul’s growth.

I’ll be posting a full review of the program when I’m done, so keep an eye out for it!

Bathtime Ritual

If you haven’t taken a long, luxurious bath in the past few months, do yourself a favor and fill up that tub! Soaking in warm water is comforting all by itself, but you can turn it into a whole event with the right items.  Activate all of your senses and treat yourself - you deserve it.

I like to add a copious amount of epsom salt to my soak, and throw in a CBD bath bomb for good measure. I love the Spirit of the Herbs Full Spectrum Full CBD Bath Bomb in Lavender + Rose, and if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll throw some fresh rose petals in as well. I dim the lights and light my TwinMoonMagick candle called “Happiness”, and yes, it does indeed provide that for me, especially with the crystals and flowers that are revealed in the candle the longer you burn it. Top it off with a relaxing bathtime playlist and you are all set.

Bedtime Ritual

So, bedtime is often when my anxieties manifest themselves most, and I would say it has been amplified even more so during the pandemic. Anyone else had trouble sleeping?

Thankfully I found some resources that help put me at ease for a restful night. I absolutely love my Pachamama CBD tincture with Kava Kava and Valerian. The blend is perfect for winding down my body and quieting my mind. I’ve been checking out other Pachamama products, click here for a review of other products in their line.

Creating ambience is really important for me, so I set the mood and cleanse the energy around me with the soft glow of my selenite lamp and spritz the air with Love Healing Mist by Conjure Wellness. It smells like rose, geranium and nutmeg, and has rose quartz crystals inside. I’m kind of a rose fan, if you haven’t noticed yet…

I then turn on my Levoit Air Purifier (which I LOVE because there is an option to turn off the display lights - I can’t sleep with bright electronic lights on), and snuggle in to bed.

If I’m not already drifting off, I’ll often open up my InsightTimer app again and take in a sound healing bath or some binaural beats.

Take Care of that Sweet Soul

I hope these rituals give you a sense of comfort and calm as we enter the darker winter months. Also, please know that doing absolutely nothing is a totally acceptable way to cope too. Give yourself the grace to rest and just be if that’s what your soul is longing for. I’m rooting for you!

Live Your Best Light

“...someone is going to cross your path tomorrow, next week, next year, and they need the love that you have. But in order for them to get it you need to fill your cup up and you need to be an overflow because you can’t love them from your cup. You’ve got to always love them from your saucer.” - Lisa Nichols
